January 2010: Study tour to Germany
For 21 University of Rhode Island students, a 10-day study tour of Germany (January 2011) organized by the URI International Engineering Program was an opportunity to explore another culture and get a leg up on others who will soon be entering the global job market.

29th Annual Deutsche Sommerschule am Atlantik, June 21-July 31, begins its six-week program of intensive instruction in German language and culture at all levels, including extensive extracurricular program.

January 2009
German major Josh Bennett begins his study abroad semester at the TU Braunschweig.
German and Business majors Matthew Dolan, David Leibovitz, Dallas Grant begin one semester study abroad at the Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften in Hamburg.
Spring Semester Deutsche Kaffeestunde begins every Wednesday 4-5 PM in the IEP House downstairs.
