Italian Program

Italian Placement

Students with a prior background (e.g. high school study) in Italian are placed at an appropriate level above the elementary according to the results of an interview or placement test. Students with no prior study begin at the 101 level and are encouraged to do so in the first semester of the freshman year.

Students may be accepted into the Italian major program after the first year upon completion with high marks of ITL 101 and 102 or the equivalent, and upon transfer from University College to the College of Arts and Sciences.
