The department of Modern and Classical Languages is committed to the success
of URI students in learning a second language. Students are encouraged to
take advantage of every opportunity in order to gain a further command of
the language. All Faculty members hold office hours during which students
can get additional help. Also, the Department maintains a list of
qualified tutors whic students can consult in the Language Department
office (Independence Hall, 126).
The Academic and Enhancement Center
(AEC) offers FREE TUTORING for those students that need extra help or that
are specially motivated and want to enhance their learning process.
Tutoring is available from the beginning of the semester. It also offers a fixed schedule for walk-in service. Walk -in service is ideal for students who
may not need a full one-hour appointment, but would like to have a tutor nearby to answer questions or offer assistance
