The University of Rhode Island currently offers coursework in modern Hebrew. The four classes currently offered are:
- Hebrew 101: Beginning Hebrew I
- Hebrew 102 Beginning Hebrew II
- Hebrew 103 Intermediate Hebrew I
- Hebrew 104 Intermediate Hebrew II
Hebrew 101 and 103 are offered during the Fall Semester. Hebrew 102 and 104 are
offered during the Spring Semester.
The Beginning level focuses on: Fundamentals of grammar and pronunciation, exercises in reading, writing, and conversation.
Prerequisites: (for 101) no prior Hebrew course is required; (for 102) Hebrew
101 or equivalent.
The Intermediate level focuses on: Development of facility in reading narrative and expository prose; exercises in grammar, listening comprehension, and speaking. Pre: (for 103)
Hebrew 102 or equivalent; (for 104) Hebrew 103 or equivalent.
