
CPT William J. Bajcz Jr. is a native of Butler Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Slippery Rock University with a Bachelors degree in Geography and a Minor in Russian language.
He initially entered Army service as a rifleman in the 2d Bn, 110th Infantry of the 28th Infantry Division Pennsylvania National Guard from December 1986 until his commissioning in May of 1989. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry, attending the Infantry Officer Basic Course in October 1989. Second Lieutenant Bajcz’s first active duty assignment was with 4/8 Infantry Battalion (Mech), 3rd Bde, 8th Infantry Division Mannheim Germany, serving as a Rifle Platoon Leader and BN S-4. He was transferred to the Ordnance Corps in 1991, serving in the 125th Forward Support Bn supporting the reflagged 1st Armored Division. His Brigade was moved to Ft Lewis Wash. in 1994 serving as an Assistant S-3. He left active duty in 1995 and rejoined the Pennsylvania National Guard where he attended the Armor Officer Advance Course at FT Knox Ky.
He was selected into the Active Guard and Reserve program (USAR) in 1996. His first assignment with the Army Reserves was with the 309th Rear Area Operations Center, V Corps (US), Friedburg Germany from 1996 to 1999 serving as an Operations Officer. He next attended the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course and the Combined Arms Service and Staff School. CPT Bajcz requested and received assignment to Cadet Command with duty at the University of Rhode Island ROTC where he presently serves as the Operations Officer.
CPT Bajcz is a graduate of Infantry One Station Unit Training , the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Airborne School, Bradley New Equipment Training Course, Ordnance Branch Qualification Course, Armor Officer Advance Course, Mobilization Planners Course, Combined Logistics Career Course and the Combined Arms Service Staff School.
CPT Bajcz’s awards include the Parachutist Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, 2 Army Commendations Medals, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, and 2 Overseas Service Ribbons.
