SSG Wayne Davis


SSG Wayne E. Davis is a native of Columbia, S.C and entered active duty in April 1989 at Ft. Benning, GA. Upon completion of Infantry One Station Unit Training he was assigned to Schofield Barracks, Hi, C co. 5/14 Infantry Regiment, Golden Dragons, as a rifleman from 1989 to 1992. In Jan 1992 he was assigned to Ft, Lewis, WA A co. 2/9 Infantry Regiment, where he served as a rifleman and a team leader from 1992 to 1995. In Dec of 1995 he was moved to the Republic of Korea, where he served with, B co. 1/506 Infantry Regiment at Camp Greaves. He served as a Squad Leader, from 1995 to 1996. In Jan 1997 he was assigned to B co. Task Force Victory, Victory Brigade, Ft. Jackson, S. C. where he served as an Instructor/Writer on the BRM (Basic Rifle Marksmanship) range. While serving in B co. TCC he held other job titles and was the NCOIC of the Tax office aiding in preparing and filing soldier’s 1999 Federal tax returns. He also served at the Fort Jackson’s, 120th Adjutant General Battalion (Reception) where he aided in processing new soldiers into the US Army. In Oct 2000 he was then assigned back to Hawaii, Schofield Barracks, to 516 Signal Brigade, Ft. Shafter, HI. There he worked in the Brigade Administrative Section, S-1 from Oct 2000 to Jan 2001. He was then assigned to HHT 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry, 25th ID (L), Schofield, Bks. HI. There he served as Assistant Personnel Sergeant in the S-1, from Jan 2001 to Dec 2002. He is currently assigned as the Administrative NCOIC at the University of Rhode Island (ROTC) in Kingston, RI.

Staff Sergeant Davis is a graduate of the Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Non-Commissioned Officers Course, Hazcom and Hazmat Course, NBC Officer/ NCO Defense Course, and Wheeled Vehicle-5 Ton Course, US Postal course 71 Lima School.

His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (w/4 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (w/9 OLC), the Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), Nation Defense Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge.
