Are you ready for a challenge that could lead to a scholarship and entry into a prestigious career upon graduation?

You can attend Leader's Training Course with no obligation.

Leader's Training Course is five weeks of physical and mental challenges that will increase your confidence, self-discipline, and decisiveness. The focus of camp is to give you an opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills.

This is your opportunity to examine the Army as a career option without incurring an obligation while you develop the skills that all employers are looking for in an increasingly competitive job market.

By completing Leader's Training Course, you may earn college credits, be eligible to compete for an Army ROTC scholarship, and have the opportunity to enter the advanced ROTC program when you return to the school in the fall semester. If you are one of the lucky students URI is authorized to send to camp this summer, you'll be given orientation training, several complete sets of uniforms (at no cost), round trip airline tickets to camp, an opportunity to have your friends and family visit you at camp to see you graduate, and you'll even get a pay check for your time.

REQUIREMENTS:

Two groups of individuals are eligible to attend Leader's Training Course:

(1) graduating high school seniors who wish to go to a military junior college (such as New Mexico Military Institute or Marion Military Institute)

(2) college students who are either academic juniors or who have two years (as a full time student) remaining to complete their degree program (including graduate students).

To attend Leader's Training Course and be competitive for a scholarship, you should be in a baccalaureate (or Master's) degree producing program (other than General Studies), have at least a cumulative 2.5 grade point average, have either completed 60 credits hours or have two years remaining to complete your degree, be in good health (take a free medical exam and meet the medical entry qualifications), meet the entry level height/weight standards, and be available during the five weeks that Leader's Training Course meets. Since Leader's Training Course is designed to provide the skills and training associated with the first two years of ROTC training, you may not have completed the first two years of ROTC or have prior military experience -- either would make you ineligible.

Leader's Training Course is much more than incentives, even though you have missed the first two years of ROTC, you still have an opportunity to enter the ROTC advanced program and earn your commission as a US Army officer, one of the proudest and most rewarding opportunities you may ever have. Are you ready to take the Challenge?
