Students who complete at least 18 military science credits may petition for award of a minor in Military Science. MSC course offerings are listed in course catalogs and semester registration booklets. MSC credits are used in cumulative GPA calculations, and students may take military science courses as free electives.

Students with prior military experience, Junior ROTC experience or service
time with the Reserve or National Guard may be allowed to enter the 2-year
program without attending Camp Challenge.
Camp Challenge is six weeks of
intense leadership training conducted annually at Fort Knox, Kentucky. This
training satisfies the freshman and sophomore years of the ROTC program.
Completion of Camp Challenge permits students to contract into the junior year
of the program. Students may attend Camp Challenge without any obligation to the
Army or ROTC. Student transportation, lodging and meal costs are paid by the
U.S. Army. Students attending Camp Challenge are also paid approximately $750.
