LAURA HIBBARD, a native of Canada, holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Juilliard School, where she was a student of Jacob Lateiner. While at Juilliard, she was recognized by the New York Times for her superb performances in the Focus! Festival of Contemporary Music. Also as a student, Ms. Hibbard won a concerto competition that resulted in performances with Maestro Kurt Masur and the Juilliard Orchestra in Alice Tully Hall, of which the New York Daily News wrote "...she appeared to be America's answer to Alicia de Larrocha...her keyboard work was model in its perfect balance of excitement and cultivation." These acclaimed performances were later chosen for broadcast across North America and Europe.
A soloist with orchestras in Canada and the United States, Ms. Hibbard is an active recitalist and chamber musician, having performed many recitals at The Juilliard School, New York University, Connecticut College, The Hartt School, the University of Rhode lsland, the United States Coast Guard Academy, the University of Western Ontario, and the University of Windsor. She directs the the Sundays in the Parlor at Park chamber series in Norwich, CT. Laura is a part-time faculty member and collaborative pianist in the music department at the University of Rhode Island.
