Bio
Dr. EVA KWAN, Lecturer in Music Education, received her teacher certification from Northcote College of Education in Hong Kong, and received a Bachelor Science (Psychology and Professional Studies) from Cheltenham and Gloucester College of Higher Education, UK. She earned a Master Degree in Music Education from Westminster Choir College and received her Doctor of Music Education degree at Indiana University in Dec. 2007.

Dr. Kwan taught general music and choirs at elementary and middle school levels in Hong Kong before she came to the US. She also taught general music and choirs in New Jersey after completing her Master's at Westminster Choir College. Dr. Kwan conducted and performed with choral ensembles in Hong Kong, Vienna, and the United States.

At the University of Rhode Island, Dr. Kwan serves as the coordinator of music education. Dr. Kwan's research interest focuses on students' motivation and participation in vocal/choral music; music teacher preparation, and multicultural music in the music curriculum. Her research has been presented at national and state conferences and published in national music education journals.
