How to Register

In advance of each session we will post a list of teachers/instruments, group classes and special programs available for that session.

To register for lessons, print the registration form ,(PDF) fill it out completely and send it with payment in full to the Program Office.

Your payment for private lessons is determined by the category of teacher (undergrad, grad or faculty) and the number of weeks of lessons remaining in the session. The chart on the rates and fees page lists the total cost of lessons if you start at the beginning of the session, or if you begin at any other point later in the session. To help you calculate, the beginning and ending weeks of each session are indicated on the index page and the calendar page of our web site.

Once we have recieved your form and payment we will have a teacher contact you to schedule lessons. We will hold your check until lessons have been scheduled and return it to you if scheduling is impossible.

We are unable to accept credit card payments, only checks, money orders and cash. All payments must come directly to the Program Office. Payments may be made in person at either the Preparatory Program Office, Room D206, or the Music Department Office on the first floor.
Please do not ask teachers to deliver payments.

Payment in full for each session is expected in advance, unless special arrangements have been made. Teachers are instructed to wait until registration forms with payment are received and processed by the program office before scheduling lessons.

Please do not contact the teacher directly about starting lessons. If you would like to request a specific teacher, indicate his/her name on the registration form. Once the form is received it will be forwarded to the teacher, who is responsible for making the first contact.

Flexibility in scheduling will be required of both teacher and student.
