Cost of a Year at RIU

So how did you do?  You should check to see how the framework for your calculations compares with the framework presented below which is what an economists would use to determine the cost of the education. The table contains rows for earnings, the major components of expenses, and net earnings - the difference between the  earnings and expenses.  There are also three columns.  In the first column we would put the figures that correspond to the decision to enroll at RIU.  In the second column we will put the figures corresponding to the decision not to enroll at RIU.  The best alternative to enrollment would be getting the job.  The final column is simply the difference between the two choices.

R&R
TUITION
NET INCOME

Now that you have the framework set, you should try to fill in the blanks and see if you can compute the economic cost of a year at RIU.  Once you have done your calculations, you should compare it to what an economist would consider to be the ECONOMIC COST of a year at RIU.
