Mohammed Sharif

Mohammed Sharif, Associate Professor. (Ph.D., Boston University, 1984) Born and brought up in Bangladesh, Professor Sharif got his undergraduate education at the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, taught at different colleges and the University of Chittagong in Bangladesh, and specializes in international economic development. Areas of his special interest are poverty, subsistence, nutrition, labor supply, unemployment, fertility, population, environment, and advertising in less developed countries.

Professor Sharif has published numerous articles in a wide range of journals in international economic development. He has made presentations in the World Congress of the Econometric Society at it's annual meetings.

Professor Sharif is interested in advising students who desire a career in international development, specially with USAID, World Bank, IMF, FAO, ILO, and other organazations of the United Nations, and those interested in graduate schools.
