Brian S. Krueger (Ph.D., University of Notre Dame, 2001) Assistant Professor.  Prior to finishing his doctorate at the University of Notre Dame, professor Krueger taught at the University of Connecticut.  He joined the University of Rhode Island’s political science department in the spring of 2002.  At URI he teaches American Politics, Political Behavior, Political Parties, the American Presidency, and seminars on the Internet and American Democracy and Research Methods.
He has recently coauthored The Politics of Cultural Differences (Princeton University Press, 2002), which seeks to understand how Republicans managed to hold the White House through much of the past half century even as the Democratic Party held the hearts of most American voters.  He also has published several journal articles.  His latest assesses the potential of Internet political participation in the United States (American Politics Research, 2002).
Professor Krueger’s research interests include the connection between mass behavior and governmental responsiveness, conventional and unconventional political participation, and the impact of new technologies on politics and society.   Along with his substantive interests, he also investigates the methodological potential of the Internet as a medium for social science data collection.
