Editor's Diatribe
Michael Fox, URI '99

What have we here? Another Political Science newsletter cum journal? Just who are these pretentious goofs anyway?

Who really cares? Why not just revell in the plethora of sagacious philosophical thought? (as if...)

Okay, what gives with this George W. Bush guy? I hear he was the one who put the "Duh" in Dubya. Is he for real? After spending an hour virtually chained to his four-year-old temper tantrums while watching Larry King's presentation of the South Carolina debates. I had to admit, he's no George H.W. Bush.

Face it, he has no real experience, Texas governors have no real power anyway, so how can he claim to have acomplished anything? He has no international experience and personally, I am fearful that any world leader with half a brain will see through his shallow disguise and know him for what he is - a brainless panderer.

I think that the button I saw the other day was right; he was born with a silver spoon - up his nose...

I guess we could do worse than "Duh"bya. There's always Al Bore. Thank God this man was born! Without him there would be no "Tunnel of Love," Internet, or God forbid, no "Love Story." I know he thinks that most Americans are small-minded, but gimme a break.

But speaking of small-minded, what happened to Jesse "the mindless" Ventura and the Reform Party? So much for a choice... I guess he and his followers might be able to use some of that "weak-minded" religion to save their party.

Let's talk about Bill Clinton... then again, let's not. It's just another election cycle. We can always write-in for Jimmy Carter anyway....

Can't we?

Think you can write a better diatribe? E-mail your feeble attempt to Professor Al Killilea at: hookshot@uri.edu who refuses to accept any responsibility whatsoever for this column.
It wasn't his fault, the voices made him do it.

You're just jealous that the voices don't talk to you.
