Psi Chi Membership

In order to become member of Psi Chi, you must meet the following requirements:

  • -- an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • -- a psychology GPA of 3.0 or higher
And you must have successfully completed the following coursework:
  • -- Statistics (Psy300)
  • -- Experimental Psychology (Psy301, or current enrollment)

Following an affirmative vote by the student members of the U.R.I. chapter of Psi Chi, you will be invited to our induction ceremony. Please note that you must be inducted into Psi Chi in order to be an official member.

There is a $50.00 lifetime membership fee for joining our chapter of Psi Chi. This will entitle you to receive a certificate of membership, an identification card, and copies of the National Psi Chi newsletter, "Eye on Psi Chi." If payment of this fee is a hardship for you, please contact Dr. Su L. Boatright-Horowitz at (401) 874-4231 or SuBoatH@uri.edu. Confidentiality will be maintained.

Application Form

Students typically receive copies of the Psi Chi application form in their psychology classes each semester. If you do not receive a Psi Chi application form, then please feel free to contact the Psychology Department Office (401-874-2193) to request one.

Completed Psi Chi application forms should be placed in the mailbox of Dr. Su L. Boatright-Horowitz in Chafee 301, or mailed to her at the following address:
