Donating to URI Theatre

URI Theatre Needs Your Support!

Thanks to the generosity of our alumni, friends and corporate sponsors, the URI Theatre Department has been able to award scholarships, offer event sponsorship that supports an individual production, complete minor capital improvements, offer a one-of-a-kind high school matinee program to the schools in the state of RI as well as sponsorship of a traveling theatre troupe that uses drama as a tool to examine contemporary social issues for children and youth.

Giving opportunities, no matter how large or small, are as diverse as our donors and their interests. Many opportunities exist to help meet much needed scholarships, capital campaign improvements to the Robert E. Will Theatre, as well as sponsorship of individual productions that assist the URI Theatre Department in fulfilling its mission of providing a conservatory experience within a pre-professional liberal arts setting. Artistically vibrant, relevant and rooted in collaboration, our unique production program enriches all students and serves the educational and cultural needs of the university and the greater community.

Donations Support the Following Theatre Programs:

Scholarships

A perpetual source of funds because the principal is never spent and the endowment generates earnings year after year. Currently, URI Theatre offers two scholarships: URI Theatre Endowment Scholarship and the Thomas R. Pezzullo Memorial Scholarship. Your gift in this area will not only ensure the future but will influence generations of URI Theatre students to come.

School Matinee Program

The URI Theatre Department is pleased to be the only institution of higher education in Rhode Island to offer special School Matinee performances. Your gift supports tickets and transportation for students enrolled in schools that would not ordinarily be exposed to live theatre. An experience that lives on well after the performance.

Acting Out Theatre Touring Troupe

Comprised of URI Theatre students this troupe tours Rhode Island schools using drama as a tool to examine contemporary social issues for children and youth. This troupe is a win-win for everyone; the schools benefit when a message is delivered by peers and the participating URI students receive an extraordinary education outside of the classroom.

Capital Campaign

Refurbishing the Robert E. Will Theatre, i.e. theatre seats, orchestra pit, aisle lighting, lobby. Ever on-going improvement to all URI Theatre spaces, classrooms, and equipment.

Donate Clothing, Furniture and Properties

URI Theatre welcomes donations of clean, slightly used clothing, unusual or period furniture and various small items for use as props or set pieces in our productions.
