Judge Arrested in Connection with Underage Prostitution Ring

 TEHRAN - The former head of a revolutionary tribunal and a number of other senior officials were arrested recently in connection with a prostitution ring involving underage girls, newspapers reported Sunday.

 Kazem Montazer-Moqqadam, a former revolutionary court judge in Karaj west of Tehran, has been named the chief suspect in the affair by head Tehran's justice palace Abbasali Alizadeh, papers said.

 It said the other seven or eight officials, whose identities were not revealed, were suspected of sexually abusing the young girls said to be runaway children between 12 and 18 years old.

 Montazer-Moqqadam and the other court officials have been placed in temporary detention, while Hossein Razghandi has been named the new head of the Karaj revolutionary tribunal, the Kayhan afternoon paper added.
