Outcome Statements for Computer Science Majors

Upon graduating with a B.S. or B.A. degree in Computer Science, a student should be
able to:

  • Apply fundamental principles and methods of Computer Science to a wide range
    of problems.
  • Design, correctly implement, and document solutions to significant computational
    problems.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Work effectively in teams to design and implement solutions to computational
    problems.
  • Understand the social and ethical responsibilities of a professional in the
    discipline as well as the need to pursue life-long learning.

The B.S. student will be able to apply these skills to solving problems with a higher
degree of mathematical and technical rigor.

The B.A. student will be able to apply these skills and techniques to various disciplines.
