Outcome Statements for Communicative Disorders Majors

Communicative Disorders Program Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Depth and Application of Learning: students will be able to demonstrate basic understanding of human communication processes across the lifespan including their biological, neurological, acoustic, psychological, developmental, linguistic and cultural bases.
  2. Critical Inquiry: students will demonstrate the ability to critically examine information from various sources.
  3. Problem Solving: students will be able to identify the nature of a communication problem.
  4. Communication: students will demonstrate appropriate oral and written communication skills.
  5. Professional Development: students will demonstrate knowledge of the ASHA Code of ethics.
  6. Ethics: students will apply ASHA Code of Ethics to solve ethical dilemmas focused on a variety of situations that may occur in the academic or clinical situation.
