President- J. Michael Downey The
provision of services is vital to the University of Rhode Island and
the members of Local 528, council 94, AFSCME have a critical
mission-to lead the service industry in the delivery of services
that satisfy our customer's and our employer's needs. We will do so
with great concern for safety, economy, and our environment, and
each other. Because leadership is not a static condition, Local 528
cannot rest with the quality we have achieved, but must innovate,
improve, and continue to surpass our own best efforts. Our members
are the source of our strength and the key to the successful
fulfillment of our mission. We believe that if we pursue our
mission, the University will return a quality product to the people
of the State of Rhode Island and to those who have invested in the
University for their education.
