The URI Sailing Center is open to the general public as well as the University community. The annual membership fee for URI students 18 years or older is $125 and for non-students, $150. All recreational sailors must successfully pass an on-the-water "Skippers Test" prior to being cleared to use the boats. Members who have qualified for a "Skippers Card" are entitled to unlimited use of the Techs or Flying Juniors during recreational sailing hours at no additional charge.
For racing enthusiasts, club races are held during the summer on Friday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning June 15, 2012. Boats are available on a first-come basis.
