The planet gets it's name from the Roman God of War - Mars.
Did you know that there's a feature on the surface of the Mars that's called the Face on Mars? Sure is! It's really huge, too! If you look to the Cydonia region on Mars, you could see it. But, since Mars is pretty far away, and you don't have a spaceship (do you?), here's a photo.
Looks like a person wearing a helmet, doesn't it? This photo was taken in 1976 by the Viking space probe mission by NASA. Some scientists say that the "Face" is nothing more than shadows of light on the rock structures; others are saying it could have been built by a Martian civilization. Wow! To think that there could have actually been Martian people. Wait a minute! Look! There's a Martian now!
Uh oh! Looks like he's up to something!
