Looking through a telescope is like looking through a porthole in time!
You never know what you might see. It could be something very near or it could be something far, far away.
Have you ever looked through a telescope? Maybe you have one?
If you do, that's great! But if you don't, and you'd like to take a really close look at some of the wonders of our universe, you can do it by finding out where the nearest observatory is to you.
Most observatories have a "public night" which is when they are open to everyone to look at the stars and planets. So, be sure to Check it out!
Would you like to see more near and far away pictures? Then, check out the NIX - NASA Image eXchange web site - some of the most fantastic astronomy pictures can be found here.
When you're through there, take another trip and go to the Hubble Space Telescope Public Pictures site. It's awesome. This wonderful site has lots of spectacular photos of our solar system and universe, - some of which are proudly being displayed on this web site!
Then, beam back in one more time to visit a very well known and historic observatory called the Griffith Observatory in California. Not only is it a great site to visit, it's a great place to play!
Have Fun! See you when you get back for more...
