Why
do we use daylight savings time?
Daylight
Saving Time (DST) began in 1967. It's purpose was to provide more light during the evening
hours. Extended planting and harvesting hours for the farmers was one of the reasons for
DST.
However, there are some states and countries that do not follow this time change. That is definitely a source for confusion! For 6 months of the year (from the first Sunday in April to the last Sunday in October), some parts of the world are an extra hour different in addition to their normal time zone differences.
