File: Soilcodes.xls

This file is intended to be utilized as a join table.  The table can be joined to RIGIS soils
data to allow for the creation of graphics depicting watertable and hydrogroup combinations.
Base the join on the Soil_Name field.

Joined watertable and hydrogroup data is often utilized in the MANAGE analysis.  Further 
information on how to create this graphic is located in the MANAGE Technical Documentation (page 10).

Fields in the join table include:

soil_name - soil name abbreviation for soils in Rhode Island

CE_SHWT - Seasonal High Water Table (SHWT) - This information is based on the Soil Survey of 
Rhode Island (Rector 1981).  An explaination of the SHWT codes is below:

Code	Depth to SHWT and description
S	Shallow, 0-1.5 ft.
M	Moderate, 1.5 – 3.5 ft.
D	Deep, > 6 ft.
U	Unknown
