System
Treatment Train:
Wastewater
exits the home through a building sewer (A) and enters a 1,500
gallon, two-compartment,
concrete septic tank (B). A time-dosed pump doses effluent
from the tank to the top of the foam filter (C), where it
percolates down through the foam cubes. The treatment unit consists
of
a concrete tank filled with baskets of foam cubes. The effluent
collects below the foam in the concrete tank where the flow
is demand dosed through a splitting device which recirculates
50% of the effluent back to the septic tank, and doses the
remaining effluent to the bottomless sand filter (D) for
final treatment and dispersal.
