URI Watershed Watch Water Collection Schedule -
Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about becoming a water quality monitor (401-874-4552 or 401-874-2905). Each year we train and equip volunteers to monitor on-water lake, river, salt pond and marine as well as streamside sites near you.

New Volunteer Classroom Training (Concluded for 2009):

Saturday March 28, 9 AM, Weaver Auditorium, Coastal Institute in Kingston (1 Greenhouse Rd)
Tuesday March 31, 6 PM, Weaver Auditorium, Coastal Institute in Kingston

Attendence at a classroom session is highly recommended to help you learn about water quality and what and why we monitor. Please contact us to pre-register for a classroom session (401-874-4552 or 401-874-2905). Following the classroom training, we will work with you to determine the appropriate field training. Participation in a field training session is REQUIRED!

Field Training for New Volunteers - (Concluded for 2009 - Attendence at a field session REQUIRED):

Saturday April 4, 2009 - 9 am & 1 pm - both for lakes and ponds
Thursday April 23, 2009 - Bristol Harbor sites
Saturday April 25, 2009 - 9 am - lakes, ponds, rivers and streams
Saturday April 25, 2009 - 10 am Salt Pond Coalition sites
Tuesday May 5th, 2009 - Clean Up Stonington Harbor sites

Remember to bring your samples to the URIWW lab in a cooler with ice packs and get your replacement bottles. We are available to accept your samples from 8 am until 2 pm on Saturday. If you are not able to get your samples there during that time, please call us IN ADVANCE at 401-874-2905 to make other arrangements. Directions to the URIWW Lab in the Coastal Institute.
