This day-long interactive workshop was a follow-up to the 2005 Shared Waters Volunteer Monitoring Summit. We learned then that many programs are looking for better ways of interpreting and presenting their data to diverse audiences. This workshop was designed to help volunteer water quality monitoring coordinators explore and share different methods for interpreting and presenting water quality information. The agenda below includes links to most of the presentations from that workshop. 2:00 – 3:00 pm	Presenting Data Effectively - Geoff Dates This interactive session will allow participants the opportunity to discuss the examples they have heard about and to work with some monitoring data to create an effective presentation.
3:00 – 4:00 pm	Developing Public Friendly Indicators - Facilitated discussion While state standards typically refer to a numeric value that a particular parameter must meet, the public is often more interested in whether a waterbody is “safe” for a particular use. In this session will focus on how to make water quality indicators more understandable to the public (i.e. # of times bacteria levels exceeded safe levels rather than 251 colony forming units per 100 mL).
