Curriculum in Biology B.A

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

You must take all of the following introductory courses: (12 credits)

  • Principles of Biology I and II (BIO 101, 102)
  • Introductory Microbiology (MIC 211 or MIC 201)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Chemistry:

  • One year with laboratories

Mathematics:

  • General Education requirement (one course)

Microbiology:

  • Introductory Microbiology MIC 211 or MIC 201

Language:

  • General Education requirement: Through 102-level if a new language; two courses through at least the 103-level if studied for 2 or more years in high school. Study abroad will not satisfy this requirement.

Remarks:

120 credits are required for graduation. 42 credits must be 300-level or higher

Minor in Biology

Requirements: Students who declare Biology as a minor must take BIO 101, BIO 102, and MIC 211 or MIC 201. The remaining courses may be selected from BCH 311 and any BIO or MIC course. At least 18-20 credits are required, and at least 12 of the 20 credits must be taken at the 200 level or above. Other general requirements for the minor are as specified in the University catalog.
