Study Biology in England

The University of Portsmouth (UP), (http://www.port.ac.uk/), with a student body of around 1100, is one of the largest higher education institutions in the south of England. Its main campus is in downtown Portsmouth, within close reach of the main comercial center. Portsmouth, located on the island of Portsea, is a seaport and major base for the Royal Navy. It is rich with history and historical sites -- a medieval castle and battlements, a Roman fort, and ancient ships like the Mary Rose and the HMS Victory, Lord Nelson's flagship at the battle of Trafalgar. It also boasts a lively nightlife with bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, two theaters, a concert hall, art galleries, and museums. The city is only just over 90 minutes from London by train, and has good connections to Oxford, Brighton, Bath and the Isle of Wight. Portsmouth is also a continental ferry port with several boats per day sailing to the French ports of Cherbourg, Caen, Le Havre and St. Malo.
