2011 Joint Northeast Regional Divisional Meetings of
Vertebrate Morphology and Comparative Biomechanics of the
Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology

Saturday November 5th, 2011 at the University of Rhode Island

CALL FOR PAPERS

The 2011 Joint Northeast Regional Meetings of DVM and DCB will be on Saturday, November 5th. This year’s meeting will be hosted by the Functional Morphology Lab - Cheryl Wilga (cwilga@uri.edu), Jason Ramsay (jasonramsay@my.uri.edu), Jordan Balaban (jbalaban@my.uri.edu) and Rachel Nichols (rnichols@my.uri.edu). The entire meeting will take place on one day with the usual friendly informal setting to promote interactions and to introduce new students to colleagues in their field. Our goal is to have as many short (5 minute max) presentations as possible, with lots of time for informal discussion, and no overlapping sessions. Please pass this email along to anyone you think might be interested, especially new students in your lab who might not be on the email list.

Registration fees are: Faculty $50.00, Postdocs $40, and Students $30. This will cover the cost of a light breakfast, break snacks, drinks, a box lunch, and a social after the papers.

If you plan on attending, please do the following two things.
1. Submit by postal mail a check for the appropriate amount payable to: Cheryl Wilga, University of Rhode Island, 120 Flagg Road, Kingston, RI 02881. Please do this by Friday, October 14th. Parking is free in the lot next to the building.

2. Send another email with your name, email, institutional affiliation, status (prof, postdoc, stud) and title of your presentation to Jason Ramsay at jasonramsay@my.uri.edu. Please do this by Friday, October 14th. If you have special dietary needs (i.e., you prefer a vegetarian lunch), please indicate this in the email with your title.

Shortly after October 14th we will be back in touch with more specifics on the program for the day and on where to park.

We very much hope that you will be able to attend. Past regional meetings have been very stimulating, and the informal atmosphere excellent for promoting interactions.

Deadline for registration and submission of presentation titles is October 14th.
