4th Annual

Open Garden Day Tour

Saturday, September 8th

Roger Williams Park Community Garden located at the RWP Botanical Center Providence, RI

This family-friendly event will feature guided tours of community food gardens and urban farms in several Providence neighbor hoods, followed by a celebration of potluck dishes prepared by Providence's most beloved community growers with locally grown food.

Providence is home to over 40 community gardens and farms, with sites located in each neighborhood of the city. This event will be a great chance to learn more about urban food production, while meeting urban growers and sampling fruits and vegetables grown on-site at each garden.

And don’t forget about the food!

At the end of the tour, there will be a Harvest Lunch from 1pm - 2pm at Roger Williams Park Community Garden. This will be a great opportunity to enjoy a delicious garden-fresh potluck prepared by our community growers.

The event will be conducted as a part of an effort to expand the Providence Community Growers Network (PCGN), a voluntary, urban gardener-led coalition. Launched by Southside Community Land Trust and community partners in 2009, the Network provides food growing education, resources, and organizing opportunities to food growers in all parts of the city — including home gardeners, school gardeners, and community gardeners.
