Andropogon ternarius

Split-beard Bluestem

Herbaceous perennial bunch grass with fluffy silvery seed heads over the length of the stem. Prefers well drained soil in full sun but tolerates poor or sandy soil. Useful for erosion control. Attractive to wildlife, including deer. Native to SE United States. 4-5' x 2-3'.
