Hierochloe odorata

Sweetgrass

A fragrant, perennial cool season grass which spreads vigorously by rhizomes. Prefers moist soil, the edge of fresh or brackish meadows, woods, bogs, and marshes. Very cold hardy. Flowers in spikelets in early spring. Native to RI. 2-2.5'.
