Juniperus virginiana

Red Cedar

Evergreen tree with medium green prickly needles and grayish to reddish brown exfoliating bark. Small blue berrylike fruits. Full sun. Tolerates poor gravelly soil, high or low pH, wind, and salt. Host to cedar apple rust. Native to RI. 40-50' x 8-20'.
