Kalmia latifolia
Mountain Laurel
Broadleafed evergreen shrub with open, loose form and crooked
trunks and limbs. Dark green shiny leaves. Late spring flowers
vary from white to pink with reddish markings in large clusters.
Prefers moist, acidic, well-drained soil; will tolerate sandy
soil, full sun to shade. Native to RI. 5-12' x 5-12'.
