Coastal Switch Grass/Bitter Panicgrass

A perennial grass which spreads by rhizomes to form open clumps. Long narrow smooth bluish leaves. Extensive fibrous root and rhizome system. Thrives in beach dune conditions. Tolerates dry low fertility soils, salt spray, drought, and inundation. Full sun. Native to RI. 4-8’ x indefinite spread.
