Deciduous shrub in the Rose family with wide spreading recurved branches. Dark green lobed leaves turn yellow to bronze in fall. The reddish brown bark continually peels in thin strips. 2-inch clusters of white flowers open all along the stems in late spring. Adaptable to many soil conditions, including dry, sandy, wet, or gravelly. Prefers full sun. Native to Eastern US. 6-8’ x 6-8’.
