Pinus rigida

Pitch Pine Medium sized conifer with open form. Needle foliage is dark green in threes. Prefers sandy acidic soil. Will grow in peat swamps, poor dry sandy soil, rocky crevices. Tolerates both understory and full sun, salt. Not ornamental but useful for poor soil and reclamation. Native to RI. 40-60’ x 30-50’.
