Swamp Rose
Dense shrub with light green toothed compound leaves and stout curved thorns ¼’ long. Pink flowers open in June and July and are very fragrant. Orange- red rosehips in fall are eaten by birds. Prefers moist to wet acidic soil and will tolerate standing water. Native to RI. 3-6’.
