Salix discolor

Pussy Willow

Small tree or shrub with bluish or grayish green leaves, pale on the underside. Twigs are reddish brown. Flowers are distinctive fuzzy, soft, silvery gray catkins which emerge in late winter or early spring. Prefers moist to wet soils, tolerates standing water. Full sun. Native to RI. 20’ x 20’.
