Master Energy Training

About the Training

One of the most exciting and important challenges of the 21st century is to ensure a sustainable and dependable energy supply. Energy plays an important role in every facet of society from our economic and environmental health to the quality of life in our homes and communities. In order to power our planet sustainably, we will need to restructure everything from individual energy usage to global power systems.

The URI Master Energy Training is a series of six introductory-level evening classes that provide residents, businesses, municipalities and any interested individuals with practical information on how to save money, protect the environment and support RI's green economy with energy efficiency, conservation, renewable energy and alternative fuels. The program also covers the latest information on state and federal incentives, legislation and policy, and cutting edge research. No prior experience or knowledge required.

Learning from a variety of local experts, participants gain a basic yet broad understanding of energy issues on local, regional, national and global scales. Past speakers have included representatives from Alteris Renewables, National Grid, RI Office of Energy Resources, University of Rhode Island, RISE Engineering, RI Energy Efficiency and Resource Management Council, Environment Northeast, and Ocean State Clean Cities.
