Education:

  • Ph.D., 1974, University of Maine
  • M.A., 1969, California State University, Humboldt
  • A.B., 1966, San Jose State University

Research Interests:

We work in several specialties in fishery science. The most recent focus has been in the areas of marine fish life history, stock assessment, behavior (daily migration), and fishery reserve issues. The life history research concers age/growth dynamics of local species. Population biology and stock assessment studies are presently directed at tropical reef species, with design of tropical fishery reserves as a long term goal. We are also engaged in the development of electronic tagging technologies for applications in basic studies of migration behaviors.
