Environmental Geology Option

Above and beyond the general education, supporting science, and core curricular courses, the Environmental Geology option requires the following courses:  

  • GEO 100 – Environmental Geology (3 credits)

  • GEO 210 – Landforms:  Origin and Evolution (4 credits)

  • GEO 301 – Earth’s Depleting Resources (3 credits)

Students must further select from the following elective courses to complete the major.  Two courses should be selected, consisting of 6-8 credits:

GEO 222 – Introduction to Environmental Chemistry (4 credits)

GEO 277 – Coastal Geological Environments (3 credits)

GEO 468 – Ground-Water Chemistry (4 credits)

GEO 483 – Hydrogeology (4 credits)

GEO 515 – Glacial Geology (3 credits)

GEO 482 – Innovative Remediation Techniques (4 credits)

GEO 484 – Environmental Hydrogeology (4 credits)

GEO 550 – Sedimentary Processes and Environments (3 credits)

GEO 577 – Coastal Geologic Hazards (3 credits)

NRS 361 – Watershed Hydrology and Management (4 credits)

NRS 410 – Fundamentals of GIS (3 credits)

NRS 423 – Wetland Ecology (4 credits)

NRS 424 – Wetlands and Land Use (4 credits)

CPL 434 – Introduction to Environmental Law (3 credits)
