Hydrogeology Option

Above and beyond the general education, supporting science, and core curricular courses, the Hydrogeology option requires the following courses: 

  • GEO 210 – Landforms:  Origin and Evolution (4 credits)

  • GEO 483 – Hydrogeology (4 credits)

  • GEO 484 – Environmental Hydrogeology (4 credits)

Students must further select from the following elective courses to complete the major.  Two courses should be selected, consisting of 6-8 credits:

GEO 222 – Introduction to Environmental Chemistry (4 credits)

GEO 421 – Geochemistry (3 credits)

GEO 468 – Ground-water Geochemistry (4 credits)

GEO 482 – Innovative Remediation Technologies (4 credits)

GEO 484 – Environmental Hydrogeology

GEO 485 Environmental Engineering Geophysics (3 credits)

GEO 515 – Glacial Geology (3 credits)

GEO 550 – Sedimentary Processes and Environments (3 credits)

GEO 568 – Isotopes in Hydrogeology (3 credits)

GEO 583 – Groundwater Modeling (3 credits)

NRS 361 – Watershed Hydrology and Management (4 credits)

NRS 412 – Soil-Water Geochemistry (3 credits)

CPL 434 – Introduction to Environmental Law (3 credits)

The balance of the 126 credits required for the B.S. in Geosciences major may be taken as free electives.
