Major plus Language

All URI Chinese Flagship Scholars pursue a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree (or in some cases mulitiple degrees) in a field of their choice while working to acquire Superior language proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. Common professional fields chosen by URI Chinese Flagship Scholars are:

• Engineering
• Business
• Political Science
• Textiles & Fashion Merchandising
• Biological Sciences
• Education

Any major at URI can be combined with the Chinese Flagship program, but students are encouraged to meet regularly with their academic advisor to assure that they stay "on track" with major requirements.
