Rui Ma

Ph.D., University of Maryland

 

Rui Ma earned her Ph.D. degree in Curriculum Instruction with a concentration in second language education and culture from the University of Maryland, College Park. She also has a Master's degree in International Relations with a concentration in US-China business and politics. Rui most recently taught Chinese at Goucher College in Maryland and on-line to kindergartners and middle-school students. Rui has also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to a diverse group of students.

Rui's research interests include language learning strategies and strategy-based pedagogies, curriculum and lesson-plan development, and teacher development. She has presented her research at national academic conferences.

Rui is enthusiastic about community service projects related to school and
education. She believes that everyone should be a life-long learner.
