Levels: URI Chinese Flagship Scholars entering CHN 102 or higher
Summary: The Winter Immersion Program is a requirement of all Flagship students and is offered at no additional cost. Students commit to speaking only Mandarin Chinese for the two-week program. The program is designed to boost students’ Chinese language skills in general, and more specifically requires students to build a working vocabulary within their individual academic disciplines.

Meals: The group is required to take meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) together as part of the immersion experience. The Chinese Language Flagship Partner Program provides meals.
Housing: All students are required to live in the Heidi Kirk Duffy Center, on campus, or within a short drive from campus to guarantee the highest possible results from this program. Students who live further away are provided housing in the Heidi Kirk Duffy Center.
