Yue Wu



Visiting Lecturer

Wu Yue is a Chinese Teacher from the International Education College of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, China, who in October 7, 2012 became Chinese Instructor at the University of Rhode Island Confucius Institute.

Not only does he instruct the Chinese Flagship student in the CHN205: Composition and Conversation and CHN306: Advanced Composition and Conversation II but he also participate in designing, planning and administrating various Chinese courses. While in China, Yue is a member of the Chinese Curriculum Reform Project for Undergraduate Medical Students at Zhejiang University.

Aside from his duty at the university, Yue also teaches Chinese to elementary school students at Wakefield Elementary School and Matunuck Elementary School. During the URI October 12, 2012 Chinese Moon Festival, Yue has also helped in decorating the stage and distributing gifts to performers after the Peking Opera performance by Binghamton University Confucius Institute of Chinese Opera from State University of New York. With the help of Yue and several other Chinese Language’s faculties along with Chinese learning students participant, on November 9, 2012 URI help the First Chinese Speech Competition which was a great success. Yue is always enthusiastic to continue and introduce Chinese Language and Culture to not only the URI students but also the state of Rhode Island.
